Capoeira
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form which fuses dance, martial art and music. Developed in the 18th Century by African slaves in Brazil, Capoeira was a means for slaves to preserve their culture and overcome oppression. This culturally rich art form is an exciting way to engage young people and adults in structured physical activity. Capoeira will help participants develop their fitness and co-ordination as well as increasing confidence and self-esteem.
Our Brazilian Music courses focus on traditional Afro-Brazilian song and rhythms to develop technique and ensemble skills through styles such as Capoeira, Samba and Candomble. We also host guest workshops with specialist artists from around the UK and abroad. We deliver intermediate classes for adults in addition to short beginner courses.

Capoeira Kids! Project
Our Capoeira Kids! project is designed to introduce young children to capoeira movement and music. Capoeira is a great way to get children active in a fun, playful and exciting way.
