CAPOEIRA KIDS PROJECT

Our Capoeira Kids! Project aims to engage children in structured exercise and introduce them Brazilian culture through Capoeira.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form which fuses martial art and dance, in a non-contact game of improvised movement. Developed in the 18th Century by African slaves in Brazil, Capoeira was a means for slaves to preserve their culture and overcome oppression.

Capoeira is a great way to get kids active and engaged in structured physical activity, helping to develop fitness, balance and co-ordination and increase confidence and social skills. Through Capoeira, children can learn about the history and culture of Brazil as well as learning some Brazilian Portuguese.

CAPOEIRA KIDS ON TOUR

We're kicking off 2012 with a tour of Capoeira Kids around Newcastle-under-Lyme. We'll be taking our Capoeira Kids classes to schools to expand participation and engage children in this energetic and exciting art form!!
